Housing developer Percy Williams & Sons Ltd. and construction company Kier Living worked with DIO to deliver the third and final phase of the Redruth Urban Village, and handed the keys to the eight new houses over to Captain Willie Entwisle, Commanding Officer Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, at a recent ceremony.
Percy Williams Managing Director, Simon Williams, said: "I am delighted we have now completed the last phase of development at the Redruth Urban Village, in Trihornek. In Cornish trihornek means a three-cornered field - never an easy shape to design - and I think our architects Lilly Lewarne Practice have done an excellent job. The design, while individual to the site, follows through the adjoining Urban Village themes of neighbourliness and promoting the pedestrian over vehicles, which will hopefully making Trihornek a pleasant and social place to live.
"I have been very pleased with the quality of build by Kier Living - as a builder myself this is real praise – and it has been a genuine pleasure working with the site team; I would like to extend my personal thanks for their professionalism and attention to detail in what could have been a very difficult project. It is with great pleasure and not a little pride that we are handing over these last eight houses for the use of the families of HM Forces."
The traditionally built, high-spec three-bedroom semi-detached family homes will be very efficient to run and all feature an en suite bathroom, a family bathroom and downstairs WC, as well as a multi-purpose shed, a good-sized garden and two parking spaces.
