Mace Scoops £1bn Contract
Mace has won a £1bn plus contract to be delivery partner for the Gutenborg project, a landmark project that will set a new standard for large residential developments and be the most European development in Russia’s most European City, St Petersburg.
As delivery partner to client and specialist company, SPb Renovation, Mace will deliver a project that will involve the design and construction of over 780,000 meters squared of residential space, creating some 15,600 apartments, along with three schools, five kindergartens, a polyclinic and all supporting roads, transport and utilities infrastructure required for a development housing 25 000 people.
Mace was appointed to provide project management, design management, cost management, construction management and technical supervision, thereby encompassing all roles necessary for the delivery of the Gutenborg project.
The appointment follows two previous commissions undertaken during 2012 for SPb Renovation. The first of which involved Mace in assisting SPb Renovation to establish the programme management procedures for SPb Renovation’s overall programme of 22 projects to re-house a significant proportion of St Petersburg’s population from old neglected houses into modern residential quarters. The second commission was a business case review and implementation plan for the Gutenborg project.
