Trade association ACAD has just announced two new asbestos training courses, in Essex, this autumn.
ACAD runs a Supervisor Refresher course on 10 September and a Manager Refresher course on 11 September at its training centre, in Benfleet, Essex.
The Supervisor Refresher course is designed for asbestos removal supervisors, who hold a current training record card and certificate and are due for annual refresher training.
The course revises the theory element of supervisor training. It will refresh candidates’ knowledge of asbestos removal supervision as well as provide updates on legislation and changes to working procedures.
Topics covered include record keeping and inspections, respiratory and personal protective equipment, hygiene and decontamination procedures, accidents, incidents and emergencies, fault finding and audit checklists and air monitoring.
On successful completion of a multiple-choice exam, candidates are awarded an ACAD training record card and certificate, which are valid for one year.
Candidates on the Supervisor Refresher course must have previous experience as asbestos removal supervisors.
The Manager Refresher course is designed for Supervisory Licence Holders/Manager, who hold a current training record card and certificate and are due for their annual refresher training.
The course revises the theory element of Supervisory Licence Holder/Manager training. The course refreshes candidates' knowledge of asbestos removal supervision as well as provide updates on new legislation and changes to working procedures.
Places are limited on both courses so candidates should book early to avoid disappointment!
