Polypool are proud to be involved with a Grand Designs project which has been filmed for the new series on Channel 4 and this will be aired September 11th at 9 o'clock.
This project is a new build development in Camden, Central London. The house is built in a contemporary, modern style, with a focus on creating a spacious family home.
This house is designed to be a carbon-neutral for a sustainable and green lifestyle. Polypool is a perfect choice for this design due to the high insulating quality of the Polypool panels, with 96% heat retention and an overall U-value of the pool of 0.18. Therefore the swimming pool has low energy use and low running costs.
Two thirds of the building is situated below ground to maximise the living space within the land available. Over the past two years Polypool have played a key role in the design of the leisure suite in the basement substructure of the house which includes a lap pool 12 x 2 meters, gymnasium and sauna. The pool was installed in August this year with a liner finish and a salt water chlorinator which will sanitise and disinfect the pool water. This system uses a smaller amount of chemicals in comparison to a conventional chlorine sanitizer so is better for the environment.
The insulated panels are the perfect choice for this type of project where access can be an issue, as the panels can be carried downstairs easily. Combined with the ease of installation, low running costs, design and project management make Polypool is an ideal solution for this type of project.
