New Development Transforms Ashby De La Zouch Estate
As part of a £2.4m housing project by Sanctuary Group, an estate in Ashby De La Zouch has undergone a noticeable transformation.
The housing and care provider has developed 12 new apartments and 14 houses in Malvern Crescent, replacing two blocks of empty flats which were demolished last year.
The original dwellings, built in the 1980s, were made up of one bedroom flats and bedsits, and dated in their appearance, were difficult to let.
The new development has completely transformed the land, with the new energy efficient homes aesthetically designed in a style that gives a rural village feel to the area.
The transformation is also providing the area with a good selection of affordable housing options. In addition to the rental properties, there are four houses that are available for shared ownership.
Jonathan Mullins, Sanctuary's head of development for the Midlands said: "Malvern Crescent is a great example of transformation and a positive way to redevelop the land. Sanctuary is dedicated to providing housing to the people who need it most and this development is no different. These homes, which are available as rental and shared ownership, will provide more affordable living for the residents of Ashby De La Zouch."
