Regeneration Plans Begin In Cornwall
The completion of a new pedestrian crossing in Pool, Cornwall, marks the start of major regeneration plans, which will unlock new homes and jobs for the area.
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has been working with Pool Academy and Carn Brea Parish Council to create a safe pedestrian crossing in Church Road. The crossing has been completed before the redevelopment of the former college buildings to ensure pupils can cross the road safely.
This is the first visible step in plans to create around 130 new homes and provide much needed business space for the many successful start-up businesses housed within the neighbouring Pool Innovation Centre.
The scheme forms a key part of regenerating the area by bringing new homes, investment and economic growth. The HCA has already supported schemes in Camborne and Pool by selecting Linden Homes to redevelop the former CompAir Holman site and land at Trevenson Park and is actively marketing more than 25 acres of land for employment use at Tolvaddon Business Park.
Persimmon Homes has been selected as the developer partner for the scheme and will start consulting local people on the plans for the scheme next year.
