Planning Approved To Build New Homes In Preston
Preston is set for an economic boost after a new sustainable development was been given the go ahead by the city council.
Outline planning permission has been granted after an application from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to create 300 new homes, neighbourhood facilities and a major link road on land off Eastway, Preston. The scheme also includes land earmarked for a park and ride and employment with potential to deliver up to 200 jobs. The site is the first to receive planning consent since the Preston City Deal was approved.
The 25-hecatare site has been masterplanned following extensive consultation with local residents, statutory consultees and a panel of North West design experts. A key feature of the layout of the new development has been to work within the framework of the existing ecological features, creating an attractive network of open spaces and ensuring permeability from the site into the surrounding area.
