Lovell Searches For Two Apprentices In Barnett

Maintenance specialist Lovell is looking for two apprentices to work on its planned works contract with Barnet Homes, an arm's length management organisation which manages and maintains around 15,000 homes in the north London borough.

Lovell parent company Morgan Sindall Group will have details of these and other apprenticeship and training opportunities on its stand at Skills London 2013, the UK's biggest careers event for 14 to 19-year-olds. Stand visitors can also enter a competition to win an Apple iPad Mini by using the stand's giant magnetic display to create an image of what London means to them and uploading it to Instagram.

In Barnet, Lovell is offering the opportunity to train for an NVQ Level 2 qualification in multi-skilled maintenance operations giving apprentices the chance to learn a number of construction trades. Lovell will pay all training costs with the apprentices working on site in Barnet.

"This is a great opportunity to start a career in construction," said Lovell regional manager Tony Rogers. "Our apprentices gain invaluable practical experience, as well as receiving plenty of support with their college studies. They are each appointed a training mentor, who develops a programme for the individual and oversees their progress."

The Lovell Repairs and Maintenance business provides planned refurbishment and electrical work services to Barnet Homes.

Lovell looks for applicants with Mathematics and English GCSE at grades A to C, good references from an employer and school/college, and a real desire to work in the construction industry.
