Wates Construction is preparing to commence construction of a brand new £4.2m leisure centre in Coleshill following its appointment to the project by North Warwickshire Borough Council.
The new 2,178 sq m Coleshill Leisure Centre will be built on The Coleshill School site on Packington Lane and will be open for community use, as well as that of the school. Features will include basketball and badminton courts, indoor five-a-side football facilities, a state-of-the-art gym and dance studios.
Wates is now preparing to commence construction of the project, which will begin later this month. Completion of the new building is due for October this year.
Richard Scarrott, Operations Director for Wates Construction, commented: "We are delighted to have been appointed as North Warwickshire Borough Council’s contracting partner for Coleshill Leisure Centre. We have an excellent site team in place currently preparing for a prompt start to construction to ensure the new facility is delivered on time and on budget for the enjoyment of The Coleshill School and the wider community."
Throughout the works Wates has pledged to carry out a series of engagement exercises with students from The Coleshill School to support their educational development, including mock interviews and CV writing workshops to help boost employability.
