Kier Living has 'topped out' the first phase of the £200m Cardiff Pointe development.
A sustainable residential scheme, Cardiff Pointe forms part of a multi-million pound development at Cardiff Bay, launched in May 2013. The project will include a new Olympic-standard, twin-pad ice arena.
Kier is working with developer Greenbank Partnerships to deliver the first two phases of the residential quarter.
Future stages will include a 150m indoor ski-slope, one of the world's largest indoor snow play centres, a mixed-use tower, gallery space, a hotel, retail outlets, housing and office accommodation.
Helping Kier to mark the topping out of this part of the scheme were Kenon Mann and Matt Smith, who have bought a home at Cardiff Pointe.
Mr Mann said: "While walking through the Cardiff Pointe site, it was very exciting to see the scale of the overall project.
"Even though it’s not finished, it was a great experience to see our new home at this stage in the build, with Kier providing us with guidance and answers to all the questions we had. We were absolutely amazed by the views, both from our living room looking over Penarth Marina, to our kitchen overlooking Cardiff Bay and onto the Caerphilly Mountains. It was a really special experience."
Kier Living area manager Lee Woodfine said: "We are extremely proud to be delivering the first phase of the Cardiff Pointe development; reaching the topping out stage is a great milestone for the project. I am particularly delighted to be able to share this moment with Kenon and Matt, who can now follow the progress of their new apartment."
