Shepherd Construction To Build Apartments In Kensington
Shepherd Construction has been granted a £15.6m contract to design and build 50 residential apartments in London's Holland Park, Kensington.
The contract, granted by Redrow London, will see the construction of 41 luxury private apartments and nine affordable and shared apartments at the prestigious 205 Holland Park Avenue address.
Demolition works on the existing property are substantially complete and Shepherd is preparing the site for an imminent start on the building works.
The development will be a mixed-use scheme of five linked pavilions, rising from four to 10 storeys. In addition to luxury apartments with dual aspect views, 8,500 sq ft of artist studios will be situated on the ground floor level, with residents benefiting from a basement car park.
Mark Tant, Shepherd Construction's Regional Managing Director, said: "This is a significant win for us. This contract further cements our position at the forefront of the residential construction market, helping our clients to realise their investment and vision.
"It is the latest in a string of substantial residential and mixed use contract wins for Shepherd Construction over the last nine months, including the £64m development of Capitol Way, Colindale, and the £43m transformation of Spring Mews, Vauxhall."
The contract for the 19,165 sq m mixed-use Spring Mews development in Vauxhall was awarded to Shepherd Construction by CLS Holdings Plc in June last year, for the design and build of the £43m scheme comprising accommodation for 400 students, a 93-bed hotel, office space, leisure facilities and a community centre. Completion of these works is scheduled for September 2014.
The mixed-use redevelopment on Capitol Way, Colindale in Brent, was granted to Shepherd Construction in July 2013 on behalf of Royal London Asset Management and Kitewood Development Partner. It includes 379 apartments, split across four six-storey buildings, 60,000 sq ft of retail units at ground floor level, as well as a basement car park with more than 450 parking spaces.
