Sanctuary Group Completes 36 Family Homes

Sanctuary Group has completed of 36 family homes at its development in Walsall.

The affordable new homes in Midland Road and Dairy Close have been developed by Sanctuary Group in partnership with Walsall Council in a £3.3m project with investment from the Homes and Communities Agency.

The new homes include a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses for affordable rent and have been built by Sanctuary Group's contractor Galliford Try on the site of the former dairy in Caldmore. The site had been derelict for 15 years before construction started last summer.

Sanctuary Group's partners at Walsall Council took part in a ground-breaking ceremony last July at the Midland Road site, and returned just before Easter to see the new homes and meet some of the residents who have recently moved in.

Jonathan Mullins, Sanctuary Group's head of development for the Midlands, said: "Derelict land in Midland Road has been transformed to create high quality family homes available for local people at an affordable rent, and we're grateful for the support of Walsall Council and the Homes and Communities Agency in making this possible.

"We also appreciate the interest from Councillors from the start to the finish of this project, and were pleased that they were able to join us as we celebrated the completion of these new homes."
