News of the launch of the Government's new Green Deal Improvement Fund (GDIF) has sparked excitement in all aspects of the Green Deal industry. Stroma Certification is particularly delighted for our installer members who can anticipate a drip feed of funding into the industry and knock-on benefits of increased jobs, growth and opportunity.
The new scheme, due to be rolled out in June, follows hot on the heels of the Renewable Heat Incentive which provided a boost to the renewable and MCS marketplace. The impending launch of the Green Deal Improvement Fund further incentivises customers and is sure to boost confidence in the Green Deal and energy efficiency technology.
GDIF offers householders the opportunity to apply for up to £7,600 worth of funding to spend on energy efficiency improvements. Once funding has been awarded, the householder must have the work carried out by a certified Green Deal Installer within six months.
Stroma Certification has been at the forefront of the Green Deal scheme since its inception and are anticipating many Green Deal Installers and Providers will take advantage of the new scheme. Applications to become part of the Green Deal Improvement Fund are being welcomed by the Government with Climate Change Minister, Greg Barker, saying: "The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund is another way the Government is making it simpler and cheaper for people to stay warm and improve their homes."
Matthew Ferguson, Managing Director of Stroma Certification, said: "Along with the RHI, the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund provides another welcome opportunity for our Installer members. There is fantastic potential for householders and installers to reap the benefits of the Green Deal and create more efficient, greener homes."
Stroma Certification has a wealth of experience in the Green Deal and an ever-growing Installer membership base. Our certification schemes cover a wide spectrum of trades and measures connected to Green Deal (PAS 2030) certification, MCS and CPS.
