The scheme includes the construction of a roundabout, a triple span road bridge, eastbound and westbound slip-roads on to the A47, a new signalised junction to support the nearby park-and-ride site and a dual-carriageway link to the nearby business park.
Balfour Beatty worked closely with Norfolk County Council through early contractor involvement, and engaged with the local community to ensure the scheme meets the needs of those it will serve.

The project team aim to minimise impact on the environment using recycled materials for the majority of imported aggregates, reducing the requirement to bring in 70,000 tonnes of quarried materials by road and rail from outside the county and avoiding additional traffic on local roads. 100% of the excavated material will be recycled.
Tom McCabe, Norfolk County Council's Director of Environment, Transport and Development, said: "It's a difficult and complex junction to improve, and reaching the start of works would not have been possible without support from many partners, including the Highways Agency, Broadland District Council, the Greater Norwich Development Partnership, New Anglia LEP, Mott MacDonald and Birse/Balfour Beatty."
