For more than 50 years, Waters Corporation has created business advantages for laboratory-dependent organisations by delivering practical and sustainable innovation to enable significant advancements in such areas as healthcare delivery, environmental management, food safety, and water quality.
Situated on the 37-acre Stamford Lodge site in Wilmslow, Cheshire, this new facility is intended to unite Waters' existing mass spectrometry operations, consisting of more than 500 employees. The new facility includes state-of-the-art customer demonstration laboratories, research and development capabilities, and an expanded manufacturing capacity.
The building is being constructed to the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methods) ‘very good’ standard. Waters Corporation is also committed to the sustainability of the project and protecting the local flora and fauna which has included construction of a purpose-built bat house as well as re-planting trees and landscaping the site with the aim of improving the wildlife in the area.
Q-railing Recommended Installer Dearneside Fabrications were tasked with installing over 200 linear metres of Q-railing Easy Glass® system. This is the economical solution in Q-railing’s range of minimalist glass railing systems its lightweight facilitating manoeuvring on site.
175 metres of structural glass balustrade were installed to the atrium – And a further 25 metres were used on the two staircases leading up to the atrium level. Q-railing was selected for the high quality finish and ease of assembly, which speeds up installation while able to achieve the loadings required
The flagship project , just three miles south of Manchester Airport has been designed to move this high technology business forward and provide a world class centre for innovation in mass spectrometry.
