Barrett Homes Complete Development In Hampshire

Barratt Homes and partners have marked the completion of one of its newest developments with a tree-planting ceremony at the site in Hampshire.

The milestone coincides with the unveiling of the housebuilder's new brand identity which is being rolled out across the country.

Barratt Homes will plant 400,000 trees and shrubs over the next 18 months in celebration of having built this number of homes, in an initiative which reflects the importance of green space, nature, and the ecology and biodiversity of new homes developments.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage and Homes and Communities Agency head of area Kevin Bourner kicked-off the initiative locally by planting the first oak tree in the area at Seacrest Gardens in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Barratt Homes sales director Michelle Storer said: "The oak tree is important to the brand. As well as representing its commitment to sustainability and planting, the iconic tree is at the heart of our logo."

The homes have been built on land formerly part of Daedalus, now the Solent Enterprise Zone, which was acquired by the HCA in 2012.
