The Highways Agency is to begin repairing and improving drains in Lancashire.
The work, along the mile-long section of the M6 around Lancaster, is to begin in September.
The £270,000 scheme will tackle the worn drainage system in the hard shoulder and central reservation of the southbound carriageway between junction 34 at Lancaster and junction 33 at Galgate.
The work, just north of junction 33, will start on Monday 15 September and is expected to be completed by Monday 22 September.
