Construction Sector Continues To Recover
The construction sector is continuing to recover and remains one of the top performers in the UK when it comes to creating jobs, according to a new study by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
The building trade was the joint largest growth industry during July, in terms of the number of jobs being advertised, according to Indeed.com.
The jobs site reported that employment activity jumped by 8% in the construction sector between June and July, with the transportation and real estate sectors following with rates of +8% and +4% respectively.
In year-on-year terms, the site said all the major sectors of the economy have benefited from an increase in the availability of jobs.
Indeed.com vice-president for international markets David Rudick said the positive findings emerging from the construction and transport sectors do not come as a surprise.
He said: "With significant infrastructure spend mapped out for the next five years by the UK Government, the CITB have predicted a 2.9% growth rate across the construction sector across this period, with KPMG additionally reporting that transport projects will dominate construction spend, at around £66.2 billion."
