Following on from their success in 2013, securing the 'National Electrical Industry Award' as 'Best Independent Electrical Wholesaler in the UK', the Sheepbridge-based company 'Recon Electrical Ltd' are once again set up to scoop another award.
The 2014 National Electrical Industry Award winners are to be announced in late October and Recon Electrical are finalists in two categories this year. They hope to retain their title of 'Best Independent Electrical Wholesaler in the UK', once again seeing off competition nationally and showing that no matter what your size – customer service and dedication to providing a first class service is paramount in achieving success in today's business world.
Also this year, Recon are finalists in the 'Electrical App of the Year' award. The 'Recon Electrical App' is available on all platforms and not only allows customers to receive updates on special offers, find their nearest wholesaler, purchase online or request a quote, but also provides a portal where they can view and download technical documentation regarding electrical installation and regulations – storing them to their smart phone or tablet for future use. The documents are an ever-expanding library and have been compiled by the Recon team based on customer requests.
Russ Gratton, Director at Recon Electrical, said: "We are always being asked for technical information by our customers that will help them out on site etc, but have never had a single location to store them all that the customer can access at any time.
"The App allows all these documents to be stored online through our website and available to anyone that needs them – it's just another way we can provide our customers with the service they need and it's great that this has been recognised within the industry as a first of its kind."
Recon are hoping to be successful at the awards ceremony which is to be held in London in October.
Andy Salvin, MD, said: "It's great to be recognised as the best in the industry and this is only possible through the hard work and outstanding efforts produced by the team at Recon. I am really proud of what they can accomplish and want the offer my personal thanks for all their hard work and efforts."
Established in 1996, Recon Electrical now employs nine people at its Broombank Road premises and is the largest independent Electrical Wholesaler in the area. From the premises, it supplies commercial, industrial and private customers with electrical products and consumables from lamps, lighting, plugs, sockets, cabling, through to control panels, switchgear and controlgear – plus everything in between. It is all despatched locally from their Chesterfield premises, and they also supply nationally through 96 IBA branches.
Recon's plans are to continue to expand and develop both the business and its team and are hoping to move to larger premises in the not too distant future.
