Construction News Image
Keepmoat has secured a further three contract worth an estimated £11 million with Your Homes Newcastle (YHM).

Keepmoat will develop 42 bungalows on Ferguson Lane, Newcastle in a bid to bring modern, spacious new homes to older people in the area. The £3.3m project is anticipated to begin in June 2015.

YHN has engaged Keepmoat to undertake the remodelling of the Blakelaw Estate. Investment in the estate will reach £2.2m and will see Keepmoat take on the remodelling work that includes re-roofing, demolition, rendering and highway works in a bid to redevelop the area. The improvements will start in June 2015 with a completion date of August 2016.

Banbury Road in North Kenton will also be going through a transformation as YHN works in partnership with Keepmoat to remove the old blocks of apartments and replace them with 65 new build apartments.

The development, which will cost £5.5m, will consist of two new housing blocks with 45 one-bedroom homes, 19 two-bedroom apartments, and one fully-adapted three-bedroom apartment; bringing a number of much-needed new homes to the north-west of Newcastle.

Work is expected to start on site in April 2015 and the new homes will be made available for rent.
