We are extremely excited to announce that twelve members of our team have signed themselves up and will be running the Chester Half Marathon, representing DCM Surfaces they will be raising money all in aid of charity.
Throughout our time in business we have supported a wide range of charities, namely animal charities however, we are always on the lookout for causes close to our hearts in need of vital support.
As of yet we have not announced which charity we will be running in aid of, we do have a shortlist and it is a tough decision to decide which one but the discussion is underway. The half marathon is a 21 Kilometre run so 13.1 miles and this particular one will see our team running through the beautiful city of Chester.
A face paced marathon our team needs to be on top form if they are to complete the marathon in a good time. Cut-off point is three hours and so we are hoping none of our team fall outside this time and therefore do not make it onto the leader board.
The race will begin at Chester Racecourse and after digging deep and running the 13.1 mile run along the roads our team will then see the finish line in sight. The rave will end right outside Chester Town Hall, in sight of Chester Cathedral and for our team crossing this line will be the ultimate goal and an exceptionally proud moment.
The majority of our team have never run a half marathon or even ran before so this really is going to be a challenge for them. That said, some of them are yet to begin their training programmes and they certainly are leaving it to the last minute with just 100 days to go before the big day!
We will be announcing our chosen charity next week, along with details of how you can contribute and support our team. On the day they will all be digging deep, finding their pace and running with pride – they really are going to give it all they have got!
As a business we believe that our success should be shared with those less fortunate which is why DCM Surfaces always have and will continue to take charity fundraising extremely seriously! We chose this event as we felt it would really challenge our team and give them something to be proud of. DCM Surfaces will announce more details of this exciting event as they arise.
