Sentinel Housing Association is redeveloping two empty office buildings in Basingstoke and Camberley.

Both buildings are being remodelled through the use of 'Permitted Development Rights' which allow for redundant commercial properties to be converted to a residential use without the need for a full planning application.

Once complete, both developments will be made available for market rent.


Mike Shepherd, Sentinel's Development & Regeneration Director, said: "The simple truth is that nationally we aren't building enough new homes to solve the housing crisis. This type of redevelopment means we can get on site more quickly and turn these new homes around in about eight months.

"The town centre locations of both of these sites are highly sustainable for housing and market rent provides an alternative housing option to local people who may not be able to afford to buy a home, and are not eligible for social housing.

"Plus the residents will benefit from the security of having us as a landlord and our approach offers a marked difference to the private rented market."
