Construction Work Begins On New Homes In Oxfordshire

Stonewater has started construction work on a new development in Oxfordshire.

The £4m scheme includes 28 village homes to be built in Faringdon Road in Stadforn in the Vale.

The project is in partnership with Vale of the White Horse District Council, Stanford in the Vale Parish Council and contractors David Wilson Homes.

The properties will offer a mix of 21 homes for affordable rent and seven homes for shared ownership. They will include four one-bedroom apartments, one-two bedroom apartment, 10 two-bedroom houses, four three-bedroom houses and two large four-bedroom family homes for rent. The seven shared ownership houses under construction provide a mix of five two-bedroom and two three-bedroom homes.

The properties will also reflect the architectural character of the village with simple traditional natural stone facades, stone slate roofing, casement windows, pitched roofs, exposed rafter feet and simple roof verges.

All the properties will also achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 efficiency rating with low-energy heating systems to keep residents' fuel bills down.

The first phase of the scheme is due for completion in March.
