New Bristol Office For Nash Partnership
Architecture, urban design, planning and regeneration practice Nash Partnership is set to become the latest tenant at 25 King Street in Bristol.
The practice, which provides integrated built environment services to local and national clients, has taken 1,300 ft² of space in the prominent six-storey office building in the city centre. The firm’s new premises will be in addition to its 3,000 ft² of existing office space in Bath, from where Nash Partnership has operated for 27 years.
The practice is expanding its Bristol presence to service a growing portfolio of work nationally and in the city. Through the new Bristol office, it will continue to provide an integrated offer for the built environment including architecture, urban design, planning, regeneration and heritage expertise.
Since launching a small serviced office in Bristol four years ago, the proportion of the practice’s turnover relating to Bristol projects has increased by c.20%. This has prompted the practice’s strategic decision to move to its own larger city centre premises, which it plans to open by the end of May.
Reflecting its growth, the practice has also recently become a three-way partnership with Daniel Lugsden, who has been with the business for a number of years, joining Edward Nash and Robert Locke as a partner. John Everett and Jon Cheek were also promoted to Associate in the new year.
To open the new office, Nash Partnership is being supported by the West of England Growth Fund (WEGF), which has allocated funds to help acquire and fit-out the new premises, buy software, carry out marketing and create new full-time jobs at the practice. The WEGF, which is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, is set to create 2,200 new jobs for the region and lever an additional £110m of private sector investment.
Commenting on the move, Senior Partner Edward Nash says: "We are delighted to have signed the lease for our new office in Bristol, which symbolises an important stage in the growth of our business. With a very healthy number of projects on the books, the time is right for us to up our presence by taking new space in this great city location.
"Our mix of skills is normally only available through the geographic spread of larger multi-national firms, so we have something unique to offer and we look forward to the national, regional and local opportunities this will present."
Current projects being managed by the practice include:
• Delivery of the conversion and new build project for Kersfield at Burwalls House Estate (part of Bristol University’s property portfolio), which will have a growth development value of £14.5m.
• The conversion of two Georgian buildings (Litfield Place, Bristol) into eight apartments for Kersfield. Due for completion in summer 2015 - retail value of £6.8m.
• Working for Conwy County Council Borough as part of a coastal town regeneration programme, guiding the Council on the options for the derelict pier at Colwyn Bay.
• Designing and masterplanning one of Bath’s largest new housing districts at the former MoD Ensleigh North site, which will see over 8HA of land developed jointly by Linden Homes Western and Bloor Homes to provide 253 new dwellings.
• Leading on the planning and regeneration strategy for a major mixed-used development scheme on a former supermarket site in Newport, which will include a student village to support the University of South Wales.
• Designs for a key riverside regeneration site at Roseberry Place in Bath for Deeley Freed Estates to provide new residential, employment and retail space
• Multiple design-led extensions to a large estate on Dartmoor.
