Network Rail To Upgrade Level Crossings

Network Rail has announced over £80 million in upgrade works is scheduled to commence on rail crossings in North Lincolnshire.

Six level crossings in Grimsby will receive a series of improvement works which includes replacing obstacle detection barriers.

Maintenance will start on 30 May at the Wellowgate crossing, lasting for 16 days.

Mark Tarry, Route Managing Director for Network Rail said: "The investment in Grimsby will bring the crossings up to the most modern standard and will make the network in the area more reliable and efficient for both rail users and the communities nearby."

Further crossing upgrades will be carried out at Friargate, Fish Dock Road, Pasture Street, Littlefield Lane and Garden Street.

The level crossings will be closed to traffic between the following dates:

• Wellowgate: 10pm, 30 May until 6am, 15 June.

• Friargate: 10pm, 20 June until 10am, 21 June and 10pm, 27 June until 6am, 06 July.

• Fish Dock Road:10pm, 11 July until 6am, 27 July.

• Pasture Street: 10pm, 1 August until 10am, 2 August and 10pm, 8 August until 6am, 17 August.

• Littlefield Lane: 10pm, 22 August until 6am, 7 September.

• Garden Street: 10pm, 12 September until 6am, 28 September.
