BDP and Rural Office for Architecture (ROA) have been appointed to design the Canolfan S4C Yr Egin building for the University of Wales.

The development, to be located on the Carmarthen campus, will be the headquarters for Welsh broadcaster S4C.

It will also be home to a range of creative industries and community groups.


The appointment was made following a tendering process.

Neil Sansum, Architect Director at BDP's Bristol studio, said: "This is a collaborative partnership between a global brand and a local creative practice.

BDPs appointment is for architecture, civil and structural engineering and building services engineering.

Design development will begin next month with a scheduled completion date for spring 2018.
