Deeley Wins Contracts For University Of Warwick
Deeley Construction has secured contracts worth over £6 million to develop research facilities at the University of Warwick.
The company successfully bid for the work at Warwick Medical School and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), both part of the university.
Work is already underway on the £2.8 million contract to extend the internationally recognised Warwick Medical School.
An extension to the Mechanochemical Cell Biology Building (MCBB) will provide a new laboratory in line with the Biomedical Cell Biology Division's need to accommodate more researchers into the building.
The development will provide particular environments such as heating and cooling which will enable them to carry out research into certain diseases such as cancer.
The extension is scheduled to be handed over in March 2016.
Deeley has also started on a £3.5 million contract with WMG to develop a new two-storey facility for engineering research.
The new site is an expansion of the campus existing facilities and is set to be spread over 16,800 sq ft.
The project will allow for future expansion internally such as mezzanine floors which can be introduced on the first floor. It has also been designed to hold bespoke research equipment.
Work is expected to be complete by April 2016.
Martin Gallagher, MD for Deeley, said: "It’s a great testament to the company to have landed two major contracts at the University of Warwick.
"We have worked with WMG very recently and to land another project with them is the best possible endorsement for the work we have done for them previously.
"Work is already well underway on the extension of the MCBB."
