Highways England Announces Bridge Repairs On M53 Carriageway
Highways England has announced bridge repairs will take place on a stretch of the M53 carriageway in Cheshire.
Works will involve resurfacing and re-proofing the bridges which carry the northbound carriageway over the roundabout at junction 7.
Contractors for Highways England need to close a half-a-mile of the northbound carriageway from 8pm on 4 September until 6am on 7 September.
Closures will then occur on the same times from 11 – 14 September.
The carriageway will also be closed overnight from 8pm - 6am for up to five nights from 14 September.
Mark Mosley, Project Manager at Highways England, said: "Our contractors will be carrying out essential repairs to the bridges which should reduce the need for emergency resurfacing work in the future and provide drivers with much smoother journeys."
