Construction News Image
Wates Construction has announced it is seeking sub-contractors to become part of a supply chain for a new development.

The company is currently building a new £27m retirement village, on behalf of developer Audley, in Malvern, Worcestershire.

The village is to be built on landscaped parkland and will involve developing around 90 apartments.

The project also involves the refurbishment of two Victorian buildings.

Wates is now seeking local firms from Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire to become part of the supply chain to facilitate the development.

A 'Meet the Buyer' event is to be held to give local businesses the chance to tender for the project.

Richard Scarrott, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction Midlands, said: "Together with Audley, we are cementing our commitment to ensuring local sub-contractors are involved in the delivery of this fantastic new retirement development in Malvern.

"We anticipate a good turnout and look forward to engaging with local businesses to ensure they maximise this opportunity. The event will ensure that an economic boost is delivered across the region, bringing with it renewed prospects for training and employment."

The event will take place on Thursday, 1 October between 8:30am – 4pm at Hilton Puckrup Hall in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
