Overnight closures are scheduled to take place this month on the westbound A20 and the M25 in Kent, Highways England has announced.
The closures are to allow work to replace important bridge expansion components on the roads.
The expansion joints help to protect the structural integrity of a bridge by allowing it to expand and contract with seasonal changes in temperature.
The first closure is to take place from 5 October on the westbound A20 between the M20 junction 1/M25 junction 3 and the B2173 near Swanley.
The second closure is to be on the anti-clockwise M25 between junction 5 and junction 4 near Shoreham, Kent.
Work will take place between 21 October and the 28 October.
A final closure is to be on the clockwise M25 between junction 4 and junction 5. Work will take place between 21 October and 28 October.
Overnight closures for all projects will be on Monday to Thursday between 10pm and 5.30am, on Friday between 11pm and 6am, and on Sunday between 10pm and 5.30am.
Diversions will be in place during the roadworks.
Highways England's Asset Manager, Tommy Whittingham, said: "We are carrying out this improvement work at night to minimise disruption to road users. It's essential that the work takes place so that we can keep journeys safe and reduce the risk of unplanned maintenance in the future."
