Mace JV Selected For London Underground Project
A Mace and CPC Project Services joint venture (JV) has been appointed by Transport for London (TfL) on a project to upgrade the London Underground.
The JV has been selected as TfL's Programme Support Partner for the modernisation of the District Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City Lines of London Underground (LU).
The Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) programme is to renew the current signalling systems and bring in advanced automated train control for these lines.
The project forms part of LU's wider £5.4bn investment in its sub-surface railway.
The JV is to provide a review of the 4LM programme, develop an integrated programme and support 4LM's leadership team with collaboration across the programme and look at how the programme partners are incentivised throughout the scheme.
The initial commission will run for eight months.
David Martin, Programme Director for Mace, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us to support London Underground in creating a high-performing team to drive the programme forward. There are already some excellent partners on board and we're looking to complement their skills, bring insight from our work on major programmes and help deliver this critical scheme for London's transport network."
Steve Mole, Partner at CPC, added: "The CPC/Mace team will bring our expertise in leading the delivery of complex systems and projects in transport to 4LM. We will work in partnership with London Underground and its supply chain to engage collaboratively and drive improvements to services and capacity for the tube."
