NHS LPP Invites Applicants To Minor Works DPS
Suppliers in the construction industry are being invited by NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP) to join its minor works framework system.
The Minor Works Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) covers works valued up to £500,000.
The DPS is being established by LPP to provide the NHS and other public sector organisations with a compliant procurement route for minor building works projects.
Trades and services available include plastering, landscaping, electrical installation, building refurbishment and office fit out.
However, the DPS is different to a traditional procurement 'framework. It is completely electronic system to enable an NHS trust or other public sector organisation to purchase goods, works or services through an 'open market' of potential suppliers, and new potential suppliers can join at any time.
Edward James, Workstream Lead at LPP, said: "Establishing a DPS with multiple suppliers will help to create an environment which encourages fair competition. It allows potential suppliers to join at any time and choose whether to compete for all or any of the requirements for Minor Building Works for which they are considered suitable.
"It supports small and medium sized enterprises, or businesses with little or no experience in tendering for work with the public sector, as suppliers who may not be able to meet the selection criteria initially have the opportunity to review their processes, finances and capabilities and apply for acceptance onto the DPS at a later stage."
