Carillion Secures £1bn Worth Of Business
Carillion has scooped over £1 billion worth of new work in the second half of 2015, it has been announced.
The firm has been awarded new contracts or is in negotiations on deals with an estimated value of over £350 million.
The work includes new facilities management contracts or contract extensions for Direct Line Group, Verizon and Virgin Media in the UK, while in Canada it is in negotiations to be appointed as preferred delivery partner for a number of new contracts and contract extensions.
Carillion Joint Ventures are also in negotiations to deliver support services work for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) along with Openreach to deliver a substantial proportion of its Superfast Extension Programme.
The firm has also secured contracts worth over £550m in construction, including projects for the DIO, the Paradise Circus Limited Partnership in Birmingham and the Kings Cross Central Limited Partnership in London.
A Carillion joint venture will also deliver Bundle Five of the National Treasury Management Agency's schools Public Private Partnership programme.
Chief Executive Richard Howson welcomed the announcement, saying the company anticipated work to pick up during the second half of the year.
"Much of the £1 billion of new work announced today reflects our continuing success in winning repeat work for long-term customers, consistent with our selective approach to contracts and margins," he said.
"We also continue to see some improvements in market conditions, especially in the UK, and following the UK Government's spending review, we expect to see further opportunities for outsourcing and capital projects over the medium term."
