NFB Launches Major Works Framework With Haringey Council

Construction News Image
A major works framework has been launched by the National Federation of Builders (NFB) and Haringey Council.

As part of the London Construction Programme, the framework has been developed to avoid 'duplication and inefficiency in spending'.

In addition, it will streamline the tendering process for contractors and their supply chains, while also promoting the use of smaller companies.

A total of 30 lots are available on the initiative covering three value tiers, five districts of London, and housing versus public service projects.

Values range from £100,000 to over £5 million.

Several NFB members already appointed to the scheme include Keepmoat, Barnes Construction, Beardwell Construction and a consortium of members Diamond Build PLC and Kind and Company (Builders) Limited.

To mark the frameworks launch, an event was held at Kensington Town Hall on Monday, 01 February.

Paul Bogle, the NFB's head of policy and research, said: "Diversity in supply chains is key if we are to ensure the construction industry can contribute to local economic growth and skills development. We are pleased that this programme is structured in such a way that SMEs can access work and demonstrate value without any sacrifice in quality."
