Construction News Image
Highways England has announced additional improvement works are to be carried out on the A12 and A14 in Suffolk and Essex.

Work is already underway to develop new road markings, install new road signs, replace sections of safety barrier and resurface sections on the two routes..

However, additional work will consist of road marking/studs renewal at various locations along the A12 and will be completed in May.

The scheme, between junctions 15 and 29, will also include embankment, drainage and fencing repairs at junction 29 Crown Interchange.

The original work began on 30 November and will be completed by the end of March.

Highways England project manager, Homy Atife, said: "The original package of works has been progressing well and to schedule and we have identified an opportunity to add additional improvements on the A12 while our contractors are onsite.

"This will help us deliver better value for money and reduce the impact on road users as we would have had to carry out these works at a later stage otherwise."

Diversions will be put in place.
