ISG Selected To Deliver New Free School In Luton

ISG has been selected to deliver a new free school in Luton.

The Moorlands Free School will be built for The Shared Learning Trust and is part of the EFA Regional Framework.

The 26,000 sq ft steel frame building will comprise of two floors, with a combination of brickwork, cladding and render to its façade.

Providing capacity for 504 pupils in class sizes up to 24 children, the facility will include a sports/dining hall and full commercial kitchen.

ISG will also deliver hard and soft landscaping across the site including a soft play zone, grassed play area, a dedicated hard surfaced games area, car park and pathways.

Liam Duffy, ISG's regional director – East, said: "We have worked closely with The Shared Learning Trust and the EFA from the outset of this project to develop a high-quality and inspirational learning environment for Luton.

"As demand for both primary and secondary school places continues to grow, high-performing frameworks are essential in promoting early contractor engagement, which is vital to ensuring that design, buildability and affordability criteria are met in the most efficient way to underpin time critical project delivery and sustainability."

The school is set to open in time for the start of the new academic year in September 2016.
