Former PowerGen Chief To Become Costain Chairman

Costain has announced former PowerGen Chief Executive Dr Paul Golby will become its next Chairman.

Mr Golby will succeed David Allvey as Chairman on 05 May 2016.

In addition to being a Chairman of NATS Holdings and a Non-Executive Director of National Grid, Mr Golby was formerly Chairman of AEA Technology Group.

He previously spent 13 years at E.ON as a Manager, before working as a Chief Executive for nine years.

He was also appointed a member of the Prime Minister's Council for Science and Technology in June 2011 and has been Chairman of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council since April 2012.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Golby said: "I am honoured to have been asked to join Costain as Chairman. It is a great British engineering success story with a strong heritage, outstanding brand and strong market positions. I look forward to playing a part in delivering further success as the Group accelerates its growth agenda."
