Unite Acquires Student Development Site In Liverpool

Student accommodation developer Unite has purchased a large development site in the centre of Liverpool.

The site already has planning consent for 713 student bedrooms and is expected to become a home for over 1,000 students.

The area lies adjacent to the developer's Grand Central property and is in close proximity to the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.

Unite plans to 'significantly improve' the density of the site at a cost of around £70 million which plans to open in time for the 2019/2020 academic year.

Richard Simpson, MD of Property for Unite, said: "We are delighted to have acquired this site in Liverpool for delivery in 2019 to add to our existing portfolio in the city.

"We will continue our progress on our secured pipeline in regional locations with strong student markets."
