Network Rail To Host Exhibitions To Discuss Electrification Work
A series of public drop-in events on the future railway electrification work are to take place in Bolton and Salford.
The exhibitions will give residents the chance to find out more information about Network Rail's works to electrify the line between Manchester and Preston via Bolton.
The project forms part of the company's £40 billion Railway Upgrade Plan.
A spokesperson said: "We encourage local communities and anyone interested in our electrification upgrade to come along to one of these events to get an understanding of the work and the possible impact it will have on them.
"Our project team will be there to answer any questions the public may have about the upcoming work and explain the benefits that electric trains will provide to passengers and local communities. Not only are electric trains quieter, they also have less of an impact on the railway, meaning there is less need for future maintenance."
The events will take place between 4pm – 7pm at:
• The Bolton Hub, Bold Street, Bolton, on Tuesday, 31 May.
• St Gregorys Social Club, Farnworth, on Wednesday, 01 June.
• Clifton Community Centre, 6 Wynne Ave, Swinton, on Thursday, 02 June.
