Carillion To Deliver First Building On £500m Birmingham Regeneration
Carillion has been selected to develop the first building of a £500 million transformational scheme in Birmingham.
The company will deliver the seven-storey One Chamberlain Square building as part of the Paradise development, a new multimillion-pound city centre mixed-use development.
Designed by Eric Parry Architects, features of the 172,000 sq ft building include a roof terrace on the sixth floor and restaurants/retail units on ground level.
Carillon has already been chosen as phase one enabling and infrastructure contractor on the Paradise scheme, which is due for completion in 2025.
The redevelopment is being brought forward through Paradise Circus Limited Partnership (PCLP), a private-public joint venture with Birmingham City Council.
Carillion Operations Director, Simon Dingle said: "Paradise is a crucial project for the city and Carillion is very proud to be playing such a major role in its delivery. We are looking forward to completing the enabling works on the site and being able to bring our considerable experience to construct One Chamberlain Square."
Rob Groves, Regional Director of development managers Argent, added: "Carillion has been making good progress preparing this complex site and the surrounding infrastructure and is about to start delivering the foundations and basement for the first phase of building. We are very pleased that Carillion will now be able to continue this work and bring One Chamberlain Square to life."
