Manchester-Based Housing Groups Consider Possible Merger
Two Manchester-based housing associations (HA) are exploring the possibility of a merger, it has been announced.
The Mosscare Housing Group and St Vincent's Housing said proposals are at an early stage however it will build on the success of Mosscare Shared Services, a cost sharing vehicle set up by St Vincent's and Mosscare last year.
The HAs stated features of the new partnership will include: becoming even stronger and more efficient, growing the businesses by creating further opportunities, having greater influence and continuing to provide residents with a quality service.
Rob Ferguson, Chief Executive of Mosscare Housing and Mossbank Homes said: "This is an exciting opportunity for the Mosscare Housing Group and St Vincent's Housing Association. We are strong, well regarded organisations, with similar values and a shared ethos. We are optimistic about the opportunities that will be created by this new partnership which will be built on a proven track record over many years."
Charlie Norman, Chief Executive of St Vincent's HA and CEO Designate of the proposed merger, added: "St Vincent's and Mosscare Housing Group are already involved in a great partnership through our cost sharing vehicle. I am delighted that we are now taking this further and I feel very honoured to have been selected as CEO Designate. By combining our tradition and ambition, we will continue as trusted social businesses and high quality social landlords."
