Henry Boot Construction is continuing with work to build a new extra care scheme in Leeds.

The Wharfedale View project in Yeadon forms part of the city council's house growth programme, which will see around 1,000 new homes built.

A total of 18 one-bedroom and 27 two-bedroom apartments are being developed for older people at the site,

Major works are nearly finished on the fabric of the building, while Henry Boot has almost completed the interior fit-out stage. Overall, the project is due to be completed in three months.

Tony Shaw, Henry Boot Construction operations director, said: "We are proud to have been involved in such a flagship project working closely with a great team from Leeds City Council. Things are really moving on site now as we progress towards completion. It is an impressive building in a fantastic location and we look forward to welcoming new occupants into their new homes before the end of the year."

Cllr Debra Coupar said: "Purpose built, accessible accommodation for our older generation doesn't just meet the needs of the individuals that live there; it potentially frees up much needed council homes for other families.

"The finishing line is in sight at Wharfedale View and we're really looking forward to welcoming people to their new homes."
