Murphy Selects Former Serco Director As New CFO
Murphy Group has appointed former Serco Director David Burke as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Mr Burke has vast experience in the industry, having held a number of senior financial roles for over 12 years at Serco. Most recently, he acted as global finance transition director, leading on the development and introduction of a new finance operating model.
He also previously managed the design, build and operation of the global finance shared-service centre, taking on operational finance director roles for the consulting and Indian business, as well as having been divisional chief financial officer for the AMEAA region (based in India) and UK Central Government Division.
Steve Hollingshead, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Murphy, said Mr Burke's appointment is a boost to the Group's senior management team.
He said: "David becomes a key member of our executive management board, reporting directly to me. I look forward to working closely with him to increase our turnover to £2bn by 2025, as we continue to focus on our key sectors of power, water, rail and natural resources."
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Burke said: "I am extremely pleased to join Murphy, having been impressed with how progressive the company is, with clear direction for the future and its growth. I look forward to using my experience to create additional value for the business."
