BA Components Outlines Kitchen Trends For 2017

Construction News Image
BA Components has outlined what will be the most popular kitchen trends in 2017.

With kitchens becoming the heart of the modern home, this lifestyle shift generates a desire for the latest trends each year from consumers.

BA Components Director Kieran McCracken, said to keep an eye out for on trend finishes such as: industrial look, supermatts, woodgrains and unicolours including the pantone colour of the year; Niagara blue (known as Denim Blue in the kBB industry.)

"The rise of the supermatt's is something we predicted during the year and this is set to rise dramatically in 2017," he said.

"This finish will be popular amongst various door styles such as the J profile handle, flat panel doors and even the traditional shaker in colours such as white and cashmere, mixing along with strong contrasting colours and woodgrains.

"With this fabulous supermatt finish comes a strong emphasis not only on look but also now on touch and feel with the added benefit of anti finger print technology. We have showcased this pioneering technology in our Zurfiz supermatts and Pronto Rothwell collections."

Kieran added: "Shaker style doors continue to increase in sales throughout 2015/16 as consumers still crave that traditional look. Timeless designs such as the BA Cambridge, Surrey and Tullymore have all been a big hit in 2016.

"In 2016 for BA Components, the most popular style in membrane pressed doors was the handle-less Knebworth style. To complement this we launched a newer handle-less style in June 2016 called the Integra and this unique door allows the handle groove to sit either left or right of the door."

On this note, Kieran said the industrial kitchen look will be high in demand for 2017.

"There are lots of natural look finishes coming through the market; metals including copper and bronze; both the clean and aged look along with oxide metals," he said.

"Natural stone, marble and silky feel finishes alongside the concrete look in various shades of grey are trending massively. Sales of our Evora Stone Graphite colour has rocketed since it's launch in June 2016. We are also bringing in a little rustic charm with driftwood type finishes filtering through the market."

However, consumers should look out for a a resurgence of Woodgrains next year, with rises predicted in strong character heavy grained oaks in various colours alongside strong oaks with limed effect.

"We will also see more Walnut with natural colour tones and even Beech with softer lighter tones," Kieran said.

"In terms of colours for 2017, be prepared for the biggest trend of the year; denim blue alongside the Fjord colour which is a perfect shade of green. Don't be undermining the grey, it's still hugely popular in both light and mid to dark shades right through to graphite.

"Then you have Cashmere which has seen huge popularity over the past three years, this colour will continue to dominate the market when teamed with many woods and other finishes."
