After over 20 years in charge, Mr Metcalfe will officially retire on 01 April 2018.

Speaking on his decision, Mr Metcalfe said: "It's a very difficult thing to leave the Company both Steve and I started in his garage over 20 years ago.

"It has been a tremendous privilege to see Speller Metcalfe grow into the industry-leading contractor we are today and I know with the strong leadership and structure we have across the business, the team will continue on their successful journey."

Mr Metcalfe will be succeeded in his Gloucester position by a new Regional Manager, who will start with the company in January 2017.
