Plans Approved For £100m Maidstone Residential Scheme
Plans have been approved for a new £100 million residential development in Kent.
Proposals by property regeneration developer U+I involve building more than 310 new homes on brownfield land on Royal Engineers Road in Maidstone.
Designed by architects Guy Hollaway, the scheme includes a range of buildings from 8–18 storeys, marking the gateway to Maidstone town centre, as well as public realm and landscaping improvements.
In addition, amenity spaces will be developed such as an outdoor area, a club lounge and an on-site management team.
Richard Upton, Deputy Chief Executive of U+I, said: "We are delighted that Maidstone Council shares our enthusiasm for these proposals which will deliver a well-designed scheme on a prominent gateway site.
"The plans will bring forward a high quality residential-led scheme, which with the inclusion of a Build to Rent element, providing local residents with greater choice.
"We take great pride in delivering places that meet the real needs of the local community and look forward to further developing our a track record of successful development projects in Kent."
It is anticipated the development will be completed in the next two to three years.
