The overall investment cost of the new terminal, which is expected to be opened in 2023, is estimated at around €3billionn.
It will enable Frankfurt Airport to handle up to 14 million additional passengers a year.
The EIB is providing Fraport AG a loan of €400m. The funds will be used for the first construction phase of the new Terminal 3, forming part of the expansion of Frankfurt Airport.

I therefore particularly welcome the continuation of our successful cooperation with Fraport and the conclusion of this finance contract.
