Morgan Sindall Reaches Milestone On Albion Primary School Project
A major milestone has been reached on a new primary school project in London.
A topping out ceremony has been held on the site of the new Albion Primary School. The scheme is being delivered by Morgan Sindall and completion is scheduled for 2018.
The new building will replace the current facility in Rotherhithe and will allow the school to increase capacity to a full two-form entry facility.
The project includes larger classrooms, open-plan learning spaces, external covered play areas/learning terraces and a specially designed gallery space.
In addition, the initiative will deliver a new playground, a floodlit multi-use games area, a bicycle track and a dedicated play area for nursery and reception pupils. The outdoor space will also include a special school growing garden.
Richard Dobson, Area Director at Morgan Sindall, said: "We're very pleased to be taking part in this ceremony which celebrates a key milestone in the construction of the new Albion Primary School.
"The building is really beginning to take shape and will provide a wonderful environment for children, with great facilities that go beyond the provision of traditional teaching and learning spaces."
The company is currently delivering 1,155 new places at six primary schools across the London Borough of Southwark.
