Wates Living Space Wins £14m Contract
Wates Living Space has won a new £14 million contract to carry out improvements for thousands of homes in Tamworth.
The two-year deal, with an option to extend for a third, is worth £7m per annum and will see refurbishments carried out to 4,200 properties in the town. Works include responsive repairs, planned works and gas servicing.
The deal builds on Wates' existing relationship with the council, which saw the business deliver a series of maintenance works between 2008 and 2010 as part of the Decent Homes Standard.
In addition, the company will create around 60 employment and training opportunities for local people as part of the contract.
David Morgan, Managing Director of Wates Living Space, said: "It is a privilege to be partnering with Tamworth Borough Council once again to carry out repairs services for the local community, while also expanding on our long-standing working relationship.
"This contract represents further growth of Wates in the West Midlands, and we will look to integrate the improvements in operational efficiencies that we have developed with Birmingham City Council into our work across Tamworth."
