BAM has been appointed to deliver a new £22 million high school in Wales.

The contractor will deliver the replacement Brecon High School in Powys.

An outline business case for the new 11 – 18 facility was approved last autumn as part of the Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.

Acting Head of Schools at Powys County Council, Gareth Jones said: "We have reached a significant stage in this important project for secondary school provision in South Powys. Appointing a contractor means we will be able progress design and build plans and we look forward to working closely with the school and the community."
